Who is Nimrod Malinas and how he founded the company "Robonnement"
Nimrod Malinas' company deals with industrial painting systems. Wanting to scale the business, he went to the field to understand the true need of his client. That's how he came to discover that over 80% of their customers no longer had people to do the actual work in the factory, not just the painting, but also the other repetitive, dangerous and boring jobs. So he came up with the idea of using robots and looked for a technology that would be so simple that any ordinary employee could use it. The major problem was that the robots cost hundreds of thousands of euros and were only for the "elite". The small ones, who live from this work, could not afford to risk so much money for a new technology without having the guarantee of the functionality of the entire process. So he thought: how could he make these robots accessible to all firms? Answer: through a subscription that includes the robot and the service, but that costs less than an employee's salary and includes guarantees against all customer fears, including the trial period. Basically, be the same as an employee. The concept is called RAAS (robot-as-a-service). "Today we are the company with the most projects in progress in the entire DACH region, with amazing customers and more than 50 robots contracted and installed or in the process of being installed. We have scaled the company from 1.2 million euros in sales to over 10 million euros in 4 years, and soon we are closing the first round of investments" , says Nimrod Malinas
Owner's story in brief:
Malinas left Romania 6 years ago, after a bankruptcy of the family business. He worked in construction for a year, during which he discovered his dream: "to impact millions of people through a company, which will have its HQ in Switzerland and be present in all the countries of Europe and later also in the USA" .
He applied to buy a company in Switzerland (he is right on the border between Austria and Switzerland) worth over 1 million euros, without much money in his pocket, but with the desire to get involved and learn. He was accepted to work as CEO at the beginning, after which, obtaining loans from banks and investors, he was able to buy the company.
