Rhema Startup Forum: How startups are shaping the future with AI

Digitalization was omnipresent at this year's Startup Forum – especially the application of artificial intelligence. Whether in the optimization of working hours, in robotics, or in mobility management: the solutions presented impressively demonstrated how versatile AI can be used in the startup context.

Silvan Fuchs from the St. Gallen Economic Development Agency opened the event with a clear commitment to supporting young companies. Projects like the "HSG Start Accelerator" are intended to specifically support the canton's innovative strength. Startfeld Director Diego Probst also emphasized the importance of supporting innovative ideas – true to the motto: "The Lion's Den, only without the cameras."

Robotics that helps people
A highlight was the appearance of Nimrod Malinas, CEO of Robonnement in Altstätten. His robots are designed to take over toxic and monotonous tasks – not to endanger jobs, but to make them more meaningful. "I've never seen a robot replace a human – rather, it's opened up new perspectives," Malinas said.

Apps that improve everyday work and mobility
Elio Gubser, founder of Taso, also relies on AI: His app helps companies automatically create complex schedules – taking employees' individual leisure activities into account. And Lucia Burtscher of 42hacks demonstrated how smart mobility analytics can reduce traffic jams and simultaneously lower costs.

Back to the real conversation
A refreshing contrast to the digital world came from Michele Gygli (Ufotech), who wants to facilitate more personal conversations with a sophisticated "speed dating furniture" – for example, between startups and investors. This, too, can be innovation.

Fan engagement through AI
Finally, Jay Noguchi presented the app "Cheeer," a platform for sports fans that uses artificial intelligence to deliver tailored content while helping clubs better understand their target audiences. The vision: less app chaos, more direct connection between brand and fan.

The sold-out forum impressively demonstrated how many bright minds are active in the Eastern Swiss startup scene – and how broad the spectrum of solutions is. The mix of inspiration, technology, and entrepreneurial spirit whets the appetite for more. Anticipation for next year is already high.
