Painted once by the boss, started by anyone on the team
Before
Hardly any applicants for painter jobs, and the know-how sat with a few experienced people.
After
Once a part has been painted with the robot, anyone on the team can start the program, even when someone is out.
The situation
A family business in its third generation with full order books, but hardly anyone applying for painting jobs. How each part is painted was known to a few experienced people.
What we built
A self-learning Lesta painting robot with a carousel and an automatic spray gun. The owner paints a new part once with the robot and saves the program. After that, anyone on the team can start the program, even without painter training.
Built with
- Self-learning Lesta MV A6 painting robot
- Carousel with four part holders
- Automatic spray gun with paint pressure regulator
- Light curtains and push buttons on the safety fence
The result
The know-how stays in the company, and painting continues when someone is absent. The team gave the robot a name. Today prospects visit the system: a job paint shop signed in 2026 after seeing it.
Why it matters
A family business passes on the skill of its best people to a robot that anyone on the team can start.
In the customer’s words
«Ich lackiere die Teile einmal mit dem Roboter, speichere das Programm, und danach kann jeder Mitarbeiter den Roboter bedienen und die Teile lackieren, ohne Lackierkenntnisse zu benötigen.»
Translation: “I paint the parts once with the robot and save the program. After that, any employee can operate the robot and paint the parts without needing any painting skills.”
