Schneider Electric, plant in southern Germany

A robot where the automatic guns cannot reach

Running since 2024

The automatic guns could not reach the undercuts, so every shift recoated them by hand.

After

A robot at the line coats what the automatic guns cannot reach.

A painting robot stands next to the fenced entrance of a coating booth.

Why it matters

A group plant adds a robot to its automatic line and wants to take it along into the next booth.

The situation

A powder line with automatic guns on both sides. The guns could not reach the undercuts of the housing parts, so they were touched up by hand in every shift. On top of that come some 200 different hangers and programs.

What we built

First the plant visited our demonstration site in Nunningen with its own coater (October 2023). We then built a self-learning Lesta robot on a lifting axis into the existing line, on subscription. A new extraction wall was added later. We handle maintenance and safety checks.

The result

In operation since 2024. The robot coats what the automatic guns cannot reach, and the plant wants to take it along into its next new booth.
