The situation
Plastic parts were painted by hand. For the paint to adhere, every part has to be flame-treated first. The company came to us on the recommendation of a company that already paints with our robots.
What we built
A painting robot and a second robot for flame treatment on a linear axis, connected to the existing 2K system via Profinet. When the flame came too close to the hand on the joystick during teaching, we fitted a heat shield. Programming is also done on screen with Paint Studio; we extended the program memory from 30 to 100 programs.
Built with
- Two Lesta MV A6 robots on a linear axis
- Flame treatment with heat shield
- Profinet link to the existing 2K system
- Paint Studio for on-screen programming
The result
Paint tests on January 20, 2025, training on January 21, and from January 27, 2025, the 2K system loads, paints and flushes together with the robot.
Why it matters
Two robots on one axis, connected to the system that was already there.
