The situation
The contract coater in Nunningen could no longer find qualified powder coaters. Orders were piling up and the business was close to shutting down. The line was old: chains, motors and a lifting unit, and many said no robot could ever be installed there.
What we built
Two self-learning Lesta painting robots on subscription, built into the existing powder line. A rotary encoder on the chain wheel tells the robots how fast the parts are moving, and we upgraded the control cabinet. The coaters demonstrate each movement once, and the robots repeat it in every shift.

The result
After four months the line was running at full capacity again. Since then the company has been our demonstration plant in Switzerland: prospects coat their own parts there before they decide, and the managing director answers their questions himself.

A company that could no longer find staff is running at full capacity again, with its old line and two robots.
In the customer’s words
