Use case · Cleaning
CERN, Geneva
After the summer, CERN asked for more floor space
Before
Large areas, at night and outside working hours, access by badge only.
After
Four robots clean on a night schedule, and after the summer CERN asked for more area.
The situation
Large areas in technical buildings and in the restaurant, cleaned at night and outside working hours. Access is by badge only. The robots were to clean as close to the walls as possible.
What we built
After an on-site test in September 2025 we won the public tender. Two sweeping robots arrived in March 2026 and two wet cleaners in April, with their own maps, zones and night schedules and dedicated settings for the restaurant floor. A motor fault turned out to be a factory setting and was fixed the same day. Every month we analyze the runs per zone in Robonnement OS and adjust edge routes and schedules.
Built with
- Two PUDU MT1 sweeping robots
- Two PUDU CC1 wet cleaners
- Dedicated maps, zones and night schedules
- Monthly analysis per zone in Robonnement OS
The result
In operation since March 2026. After the summer, CERN asked us to extend the robots’ working areas. Since September 2026, further floors are being added, one per day.
Why it matters
A research organization with strict access control extends the working area after one summer.
