The situation
The powder coater could no longer find qualified coaters. Even so, the owner said no to the robot twice. He wanted to see it on his own parts first and visit two references in Germany.
What we built
In April 2023 the company coated its own parts in our demonstration plant in Nunningen. We then installed two Lesta robots on a raised steel deck in front of the automatic powder line, for pre-coating and touch-up. Hooks, hangers and programs are matched to a conveyor running at 3 to 3.2 meters per minute and to many part types. Two manual spray walls stayed, so that staff can touch up parts.

The result
After six weeks the owner ordered the second robot. Today the staff hang up the parts and choose the program. At the maintenance visit in June 2026 both robots were in very good condition, and the company now hosts prospects from the Karlsruhe region itself.
Why it matters
A skeptic tests with his own parts and orders a second robot six weeks later.

Translation: “I said no. Then I tried it. Now I can’t imagine going back.”
