A painting system whose acceptance is measured
In numbers
-
Cmk ≥ 1.67
machine capability to be proven at acceptance for dosing, robot and turntable
Source: Robonnement project records, requirement of March 2026
The situation
Aircraft flaps are painted on both sides, containers on all sides. The paint is mixed by hand. Acceptance requires proven machine capability (Cmk of at least 1.67) for dosing, robot and turntable, and production may stop for three weeks at most.
What we built
A Lesta robot sunk about 400 mm into a pit, with the container raised by 300 mm. A turntable with a large slewing ring, driven through the robot controller. A 3K/2K mixing and dosing system for water-based paint and a separate circuit for solvent-based special colors; gear pumps dose the volume, not the pressure, with ten password levels. The pit has a slope of at least 2 percent so that the Ex zone 2 is respected. Plus the CE documentation for the whole system.
Built with
- Lesta MV A6 painting robot, sunk into a pit
- Turntable with slewing ring, controlled through the robot controller
- SAMES Kremlin 3K/2K mixing and dosing system
- Volumetric gear pumps, ten password levels
- Sloped pit for Ex zone 2, CE documentation
The result
Contracts signed in April 2026, engineering since summer 2026. Installation starts once the foundation has cured; production stops for three weeks at most. Acceptance comes with proof of machine capability.
Why it matters
An aerospace acceptance based on machine capability: we build systems that can be measured.
