Robotics as a Service
How it works.
-
The robot or the complete system.
-
Through our partners. No investment for you.
-
Transport, installation, commissioning and training for your team.
-
Maintenance and spare parts, remote monitoring, software updates.
-
For comparison
Like compressed-air contracting: the provider builds, owns and operates the system. You pay monthly for what it delivers.
What the monthly fee includes
- Robot or system
- Engineering and layout
- Transport, installation and commissioning
- Training for your team
- We teach the first programs together with your team
- Maintenance and spare parts
- Remote monitoring
- Software updates
What stays with you
- Power, compressed air and water
- Paint, powder or cleaning agent
- Loading and checking. For cleaning robots that is about 15 minutes per run: refill water, empty the tank, quick check.
Process
How a project runs with us.
Five steps, from the first visit to daily operation. The examples come from projects of the last two years.
-
Walkthrough
We come to your plant and look at parts, line and floors. Often we can tell you right there whether a robot is worth it.
From a project: In March 2026 we advised a furniture maker against a painting robot and suggested an inspection station instead, because the bigger problem was there.
-
Concept
Layout and simulation in your booth or hall. We plan room for the next step.
From a project: For a plastics paint shop in medical technology, we moved the layout by 400 mm so a second cell fits later. Plastics paint shop for medical technology in the Black Forest-Baar district
-
Test with your parts
You paint your own parts at a plant that works with our robots, for example in Nunningen or near Dortmund.
From a project: A powder coater from the Upper Palatinate drove 530 kilometers for this, with his own part and his own powder. Powder coater in the Upper Palatinate
-
Installation and commissioning
During your plant shutdown or station by station, so your production keeps running. Our technicians install and hand over to your team.
From a project: At an industrial paint shop in the Upper Palatinate, the first test program ran one week after arrival, and the project was complete less than three weeks after arrival. Including pre-assembly in our workshop, it took four weeks, without stopping production. Industrial paint shop in the Upper Palatinate
-
Operation and service
We check remotely first; if needed, a technician comes on site. We maintain the robots on schedule and check their safety.
From a project: After a collision at a job coater in Emsland, production was running again after about four hours. Job coater in Emsland

Examples
What the subscription looks like at our customers.
Real cases, without individual customers’ prices. What the monthly fee covers in daily work.
-
Painting robots at an existing line
The old powder line stays, two robots join it.
Passt Coating in Nunningen could no longer find powder coaters. Since 2022, two Lesta robots on subscription have worked at the existing line; an encoder on the chain sprocket keeps them in step. Full capacity within four months.
-
Service on subscription
When something does not work, it is our problem.
At a family business in Emsland, no paint reached the gun in April 2026. We took the line apart piece by piece, found the cause in the cleaning during color changes and agreed on a maintenance protocol. On subscription since February 2026.
-
Cleaning robots
One robot, at work every day.
In a rehabilitation clinic in the Zurich Oberland, a scrubber on subscription has cleaned the corridors since July 2025, about 1,300 m² per run on 246 of 301 days (January to August 2026). We answered the questions on fire alarms and escape routes openly beforehand.
-
Adjust instead of cancel
After one week, the customer wanted to stop.
In a municipal sports hall in Basel, spots were missed in the first week and there was too much cleaning agent. Two weeks later the settings were right, and the customer kept the subscription. Today the hall is done by 7:15 a.m.

To be honest
When we advise against it.
A robot is not always the answer. We say so before the contract, not after.
-
From about 1,000 m²
of floor per working day, a robot pays off. Below that, it mainly brings a clean floor every morning.

Hotel on Lake Lucerne
Small floors, every day. Here the robot saves hardly any hours, but it brings a reliably clean floor every morning. We said so beforehand.

Industry
A painting robot, a cobot, a transport robot: three requests where we advised against it or proposed something else.

Cleaning
A clean room, film and wood on the floor, fire safety questions: three sites where the honest answer differed from the request.

Frequently asked questions
-
A cleaning, delivery or service robot costs from CHF 1,500 a month, a painting robot in your existing booth from EUR 2,900 a month. For painting cells and special machines we quote the price after a site walkthrough, together with whether it pays off for you.
-
No. Your painter shows the robot the motion once, and the robot repeats it in every shift. With many variants, a scanner recognizes the part and selects or shifts the program.
-
A cleaning robot is usually set up on site in one to three days. A painting robot in an existing booth was painting at an industrial painter in the Upper Palatinate four weeks after pre-assembly in our workshop, without stopping production. Systems take longer: we give you the schedule after the walkthrough.
-
We check remotely first; if needed, a technician comes on site. After a collision at a job coater in Emsland, production was running again after about four hours. What is binding is in your contract.
-
We do, from Altstätten: remote diagnosis first, then a technician on site. Maintenance, spare parts and software updates are included in the monthly fee, and for industrial robots also the scheduled safety check. Every visit ends with a report.
-
The robot takes over the repetitions and the large floors; your people decide, check and look after it. We train on site until your team works on its own. At a paint shop in Saarland the painter now improves the programs himself, and at a hospital in the canton of Zurich the cleaning robot noticeably relieves the team.
-
No. We install during your plant shutdown or station by station. At a window manufacturer in the Upper Palatinate, the retrofit of a whole painting line was on schedule on 14 of 14 days.
-
Yes, on subscription. You pay a fixed monthly fee; we buy, finance, install and operate the robot. That applies to cleaning robots, delivery and service robots, painting robots and complete systems. Maintenance and spare parts are included; at the end of the term you take over the robot or extend.
-
We do. We finance it through our partners.
-
You take over the system or extend.
-
Yes. If you prefer to buy, you buy.
-
You sign the subscription with Robonnement GmbH in Hamburg and the purchase with Robonnement AG in Altstätten.
-
That is why we test first, with your parts at a plant that works with our robots, or at your site. And we say so when it does not fit: after the walkthrough, we advised a furniture maker against a painting robot.
-
His motions stay in the company as programs. Your team starts them and adds new parts, like a paint shop in Saarland whose team now improves the programs itself.
-
Often, yes. A small job coater in Lübeck has worked with the smallest variant, a stationary robot, since 2022. Whether it pays off for you, we work out after a walkthrough on site, even when the answer is no.
