Painting systems and special machinery From the first sketch to a running system.

When a single robot is not enough, we plan, build and operate the whole system.

Systems in numbers

  • About 200 °C

reached by every mold before the robot sprays the die coating

Source: Robonnement project records, July 2026

  • 14 of 14

commissioning days on schedule, station by station

    Source: Robonnement OS, September 2026

  • Cmk ≥ 1.67

machine capability to be proven at acceptance for dosing, robot and turntable

Source: Robonnement project records, requirement of March 2026

  • 1 month

from the first day on site to handover

What we solve every day

When one robot alone is not enough.

  1. What customers say: Our line must not stop.

What we do: Installation during the plant shutdown or station by station, technicians on site, weekends included.

View case: Window manufacturer in the Upper Palatinate
  2. What customers say: Nobody can automate our old chain line.

What we do: An encoder on the chain sprocket synchronizes the robot with your chain. The line stays as it is.

View case: Passt Coating AG, Nunningen
  3. What customers say: We still mix 2K by hand.

What we do: Mixing and dosing technology sized to your volume, with our own low-pressure 2K solution.

View case: Plastics paint shop for medical technology in the Black Forest-Baar district
  4. What customers say: We have a hundred variants and no programmer.

What we do: Programming by demonstration. A scanner recognizes the part and picks the program.

View case: Drive technology maker in Baden-Württemberg
  5. What customers say: Overhead in the powder cloud, solvents, heat.

What we do: The robot takes on the strenuous work, people stay in control.

What we build

Every system is made for one plant. Under each kind you will find one that runs today or has been ordered.

Three systems in detail

What goes into a system.

BORBET, wheel plant in Thuringia Running since July 2026

Molds for wheel casting, heated and coated fully automatically.

Before casting, every mold has to be heated to about 200 degrees and sprayed with die coating. That was manual work, hot and heavy, and there was no standard robot for it. We developed the system, tested mold segments in Altstätten beforehand and put it into operation in July 2026. Today it runs in production.

  • Heavy-duty Lesta robot at a carousel with stations for scanning, heating and coating
  • A 3D scanner checks the position and shape of every mold, ring burners heat it to about 200 degrees
  • Roller conveyor with pneumatic loading, dedicated extraction wall, heat shields, CE documentation for the whole system

Aerospace supplier in Saxony Ordered in April 2026

Aircraft flaps on both sides, containers from every side.

The paint was mixed by hand, the acceptance requires proven machine capability, and production may stop for three weeks at most. We sink the robot about 400 mm into a pit and raise the container by 300 mm. A turntable with a large slewing ring turns the part, driven by the robot controller.

  • 3K/2K mixing and dosing system: gear pumps dose the volume, not the pressure
  • A slope of at least 2 percent in the pit to keep the Ex zone 2
  • Acceptance with a Cmk of at least 1.67 for dosing, robot and turntable, CE documentation for the whole system

Window manufacturer in the Upper Palatinate Being commissioned

A painting line for wooden windows that nobody could maintain anymore.

Outdated controls, unfinished conveyor programming, no German user interface. The windows come round, square, slanted, with segmental arches and glazing bars. We rebuilt the line from the ground up and, together with the customer, reduced the operating modes from three to two. Our technician was on site all of September, weekends included.

  • Power-and-free conveyor with six stations: loading, pre-washing, flow coating, painting, humidifying, unloading
  • New control cabinet with robot controller, 2D and 3D scanners, Beckhoff controls, eight recipes
  • 14 of 14 commissioning days on schedule. On September 20, 2026, the whole line ran fully automatically for the first time.

Systems Running since January 2025

Plastics finisher in Rhenish Hesse

Before
Plastic parts were painted by hand, and every part must be flame-treated first.
After
Two robots on one axis, one flame-treats and one paints, since January 2025.

100 programs now fit into the program memory, instead of 30

A painting robot runs on a rail along the booth with its pressure tank, next to two large composite panels.

Painting Running since 2023

Composites manufacturer in Thurgau

Before
Parts up to 1.8 x 2 meters were primed by hand, at the first site without a conveyor.
After
Two systems prime with robots, one with a carousel and one on a rail along the booth.
A painting robot with a spray gun in a cell screened with film, on a grating floor.

Painting Running since January 2025

Drive technology maker in Baden-Württemberg

Before
Gearboxes in many variants and complex shapes, painted entirely by hand.
After
A scanner checks every part and starts the right program, in production since January 2025.
A painting robot in a protective cover stands between two racks of long steel profiles in a paint booth.

Painting Running since February 2026

Family-owned paint shop in Emsland

Before
Many colors in small containers, and the parts were moved by hand.
After
A robot with a carousel and 3D scanner applies powder and wet paint, since February 2026.

How a project runs

Six steps, with times from systems that are running today.

  1. Walkthrough

We look at parts, line, space and workflows and tell you whether it takes one robot or a whole system.

  2. Concept phase

At a fixed price, credited against the order.

  3. 3D layout and simulation

We check reach, cycle time and collisions on the model, and test parts and samples at our place first.

In practice We pre-assembled the 2K application system for a plastics paint shop in Altstätten to shorten the time on site. Plastics paint shop for medical technology in the Black Forest-Baar district

  4. Build

Pre-assembly in our workshop: arm plates, carousel arms, motors for additional axes.

In practice From the workshop to the first painted part in four weeks, without stopping production (February 2026). Industrial paint shop in the Upper Palatinate

  5. CE conformity and commissioning

Station by station, with a protocol and CE documentation for the whole system.

In practice Retrofit of a whole line: 14 of 14 days on schedule (September 2026). Window manufacturer in the Upper Palatinate

  6. Operation and service

Training in shifts, support during the first production runs, remote support, scheduled maintenance and safety checks.

In practice Programming on September 3 and 4, training from September 8, handover on September 11, 2026. Plastics paint shop for medical technology in the Black Forest-Baar district

A monthly fee instead of an investment

We offer every system as a service first, for a monthly fee. Buying through Robonnement AG remains possible. The amount depends on the size of the system.
